Annaghmore opens new State of the Art

By IFHS Team | Sep 07, 2018

In April of last year, Annaghmore embarked on a hugely significant project by beginning the planning phase of building a new state of the art 65,000 sq. ft. warehouse and fulfilment centre at their Head office site in Annaghmore. Just over 12 months later and their new facility is now beginning to receive products into stock.
Their new warehouse and fulfilment centre is 65,000 sq ft and will utilise an innovative new VNA (Very Narrow Aile)  Racking system together with a cutting edge computerised warehouse management system.
These bespoke storage systems allow Annaghmore to reduce their overall square footage whilst allowing them too store virtually the same number of pallets. Very Narrow Aisle racking commonly referred to as VNA is an effective method of increasing pallet storage within a given area with the advantages of selective racking.

This system requires a special fork lift which reduces the aisle space by a minimum of 40% compared to traditional fork lifts. This system still provides 100 % product selectivity and utilises the vertical space for pallet storage. Director Conor McKeown is delighted with the move, “this is another exciting development for our company, having the ability to create a modern bespoke warehouse and fulfilment centre on our head office site and bringing our entire operation together again onto one site is something we have wanted to do for the last few years. We are delighted with our how our new warehousing system has turned out and are looking forward to capitalising on this as the years progress. The whole investment is to make our warehousing and distribution process more efficient, which in turn can hopefully give us that competitive edge”

Annaghmore’s Marketing Manager, Cathal Curran is looking forward to this years Irish Furniture and Homewares show, “We are delighted to be showing at this years event for the 4th year in a row, we have been very busy internally with our warehouse move and reorganisation, but we have also been very busy on the buying front, with some fantastic new ranges to be launched at Dublin. It is a very competitive marketplace at the minute and sales have been fluctuating as we know, but hopefully this years show will kick start a busy few months ahead”.
